Meet Layana Sariah, a warm and approachable therapist who values connection and laughter in the healing journey. With a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience from Drake University, along with a Master’s in Counseling from Avila University and EMDR training, she offers compassionate support for children, teens, and adults.

Susan Meyer is a Pre-Licensed Therapist (PLPC) at Ember & Bloom Therapy in Kansas City, where she provides trauma-informed, client-centered counseling with warmth and respect. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lincoln University of Missouri and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kansas, focusing on Positive Psychotherapy and Multicultural Counseling.

Susan is passionate about reducing mental health stigma and expanding access to culturally responsive care for underserved communities. She works with individuals navigating trauma, family dynamics, personality disorders, and identity development, drawing from DBT, Positive Psychotherapy, and strengths-based approaches.

At Ember & Bloom Therapy, she creates a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore their strengths, build resilience, and pursue meaningful growth.

Taylor Kautt is a Clinical Social Work Intern pursuing her Master of Social Work after earning degrees in Social Work and Psychology from the University of Saint Mary. She is passionate about helping adolescents, young adults, and adults navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges.

Taylor believes therapy should be a supportive and collaborative experience where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. She strives to create a warm, welcoming environment where individuals can build resilience, gain insight, and work toward meaningful growth and healing.

Taylor provides affordable therapy services in Kansas and Missouri under the supervision of Brittany Slater-Smith, LCMFT.
